In this blog, I’m going to share with you the reasons why we started collecting reviews, how it’s impacting our business and how you, as a small recruitment agency owner, can start collecting reviews to increase the speed at which you can win new clients and grow your business.

Trust me, it’s worth it!

So, let’s start at the top.

You might be wondering,

Why do you care so much about collecting reviews for this free ATS/CRM that you feel the need to write a blog about it?

Well,

When we started building this product just over 2 years ago, I said to myself that I would try to document as much of the journey as possible.

Just in case it becomes valuable to anyone at a later date.

So far, I don’t think anyone is too fussed.

The second reason I care so much is that we want to provide the best free platform for recruiters and believe that collecting reviews is a non-negotiable if we want to showcase the quality of our product.

Our mission at Giig is to help as many recruiters as possible break away from recruitment agencies and the boring 9–5, to set up as Solo Founders/Business Owners.

To give you the best chance of making that jump and becoming a successful business owner, we want to give you FREE tools to start building your candidate and client database without paying a penny.

When we first launched this Free Recruitment ATS/CRM, I naively thought that people would come flocking!

Why not?

It’s a free platform that you can use for an unlimited timeframe, with no restriction on the amount of data you can store, plus there’s no need to provide any credit card details to sign up.

What’s not to love?

But pretty quickly, we discovered that people didn’t trust it. Even though it’s completely free, they were hitting us with questions like:

“Why’s it free?”

“What’s the catch?”

“How do you make your money?”

All of which are very good questions.

Especially the last one.

To bring you up to speed on how we make our money, we also have paid versions of Giig Hire that you can sign up for if you would like to.

Again, here is our pricing, so you an see what you get for Free Vs what’s in our Paid Plans. — Pricing Link

However, if you only want to use the free version and never upgrade to the paid version of the platform, that’s totally fine.

We have around 800 recruiters worldwide that currently use our free forever recruitment ATS/CRM and have never paid us a penny for it. Also, that number keeps on growing month on month.

Luckily for all those free users out there, the paid users of Giig Hire allow us to keep the business open, whilst providing a free platform for those of you who are unable to start paying for something yet.

So it’s a real community vibe,

The people who can afford to pay support those who are just starting out, who can’t yet afford something.

So that’s how we keep it free.

Like I said, in the early days, we were expecting it to blow up, but people didn’t trust it. So we very quickly realised that if we’re going to make this fly, we’re going to have to start collecting reviews.

Makes sense, right?

In today’s world, most consumers look for validation of a product before they take the plunge and pay for something. If you come across two products online and one of them has 0 reviews and the other has +1,000, I think that 99% of the time, people will go for the reviewed product.

So we quickly set to work trying to collect as many reviews as possible to show you that this free platform we’re building is genuinely free, can be trusted and isn’t a scam.

Now that we’re over 200, the platform is growing faster than when we had 0.

Now I believe that we’re experiencing this growth because of collecting reviews, which got me thinking…

“Why are recruiters not doing this?”

In an industry that has a ‘Hit & Miss’ reputation where you’re battling against 1,000s of other recruiters, why are you not collecting reviews to showcase your experience, that you can do the job and that you’re trustworthy?

I mean, there are +30,000 recruitment agencies in the UK, so why would you not be doing everything you can to showcase you’re a cut above the rest?

By collecting reviews, you will show your clients that you can be trusted, and it will also give you an angle for content, where you can shout online about each review you collect.

Kind of like what I am doing here,

As a platform, we’re collecting our reviews on Trustpilot, and nothing is stopping you from doing the same.

Although if I were building a recruitment agency or any other small local business, I would go with Google Reviews.

Here’s an article that shares tips on: How to Collect More Google Reviews.

According to Google, businesses with more reviews are typically ranked higher and picked more than companies with no reviews.

Article: How to improve your local ranking on Google.

The cool thing, if you go with Google Reviews, is that there are platforms like ElfSight that allow you to turn your reviews into a carousel that you can plug into your website.

So that anyone who lands on your website is hit with a selection of your latest reviews.

The cool thing about this tool is that once you plug it into your website, it will automatically keep updating every time you get a new review, so you won’t need to keep constantly adding new ones to your site.

They also have a free version that you can give a go first (We love a free platform).

I dunno if I mentioned it, but we’re building a Free Recruitment ATS/CRM.

Forgetting about that, though, I think you should start collecting as many reviews as you can because in a couple of years, when you’ve got a big collection of them sitting there, I would bet that you’ll find it easier to start winning clients and growing your agency.

We all know that finding clients is the hardest part of building a business.
